Global Flight Update
As we anticipate Shaesta’s departure across the northern Atlantic, we take this time to thank our partners, civil aviation authorities, ICAO representatives and communities awaiting Shaesta’s safe arrival into Europe. Dreams Soar’s global outreach program will resume in Madrid, Spain to continue our mission to inspire the next generation of STEM & aviation professionals. We cannot thank our partners, fans, and followers enough for the support and positive energy with this exciting endeavor.
Navigating Our Way With Gulf Coast Avionics
Accurate GPS technology is important when it comes to a global flight and Gulf Coast Avionics (GCA) is here to help! Gulf Coast Avionics has successfully provided avionics installation solutions for over 33 years and they remain on the leading edge of industry and technology innovation.

GCA is the first and longest standing certified Garmin Aviation dealer. Being a trailblazing company in the industry, GCA allows their passion to soar through their work. Thanks to GCA, Shaesta has an aviation data card programmer for the Garmin 430/530 GPS system. This device provides significantly faster card programming times allowing the pilot to spend less time inputting GPS information and more time focused on flying the aircraft. This will allow Shaesta to have the most up-to-date GPS database coverage throughout her route!

Thank you Gulf Coast Avionics for making dreams soar!

Outreach Expansion: Soaring at Discovery World in Milwaukee, WI
Even though Shaesta has a set plan of outreach events along the global route, the Dreams Soar team works tirelessly to ensure that our message is as far reaching as possible. On May 24, Marquette University collaborated with Dreams Soar for STEM Day at Discovery World in Milwaukee, Wi. Local elementary and middle school students were exposed to the different types of STEM education through hands-on activities focused around engineering, aviation, and computing. The event was spearheaded by Dream Team member Hannah Negas-Cottew, an engineering student at Marquette University. Approximately 100 students were in attendance and were able to be inspired by Shaesta’s story, Dreams Soar’s mission and the Marquette University outreach team.

Thank you Hannah and team! We could not make dreams soar without you!

Staying Above Water With Mustang Survival
How do you maximize pilot safety on a 90-day journey with various open-water legs? Thanks to Mustang Survival, Dreams Soar pilot, Shaesta Waiz, has what she needs in case of an in-flight emergency. Mustang Survival is a company that “Saves Lives for a Living,” providing expert survival equipment to those in the maritime and aviation fields. Shaesta is equipped with an immersion suit equipped with gloves providing warmth in cold conditions, a five millimeter fire retardant layer for flotation, hypothermia protection and a water-tight seal. This special suit is designed for commercial operations and is ideal for any emergency that may arise. With Mustang Survival’s generous donation, Shaesta is all suited up and prepared to handle any situation!

Thank you Mustang Survival for making dreams soar!

Our Dreams Soar team works tirelessly to impact the next generation. Great work, Jill!

Helping Hands in Halifax, Nova Scotia
When unexpected changes happen along the global flight, we are very fortunate for industry partners willing to be accommodating and understanding. We would like to thank Gateway Aviation Services for supporting Shaesta and the aircraft during the duration of her stay in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Gateway team was able to provide aircraft hangaring and waive all ramp fees.

Thank you Gateway Aviation Services for making dreams soar!
